Associate Professor Jane Nikles is a registered Medical Practitioner who conducts research at The University of Queensland. Jane has 20 years’ experience in conducting N-of-1 trials and has a particular interest in improving the science of N-of-1 trials and exploring the applications of these trials to maximise patient health outcomes. Jane was involved in the development of the CONSORT Extension for N-of-1 Trials and SCRIBE reporting guidelines. Jane is co-chair of the ICN

Dr Suzanne McDonald is a Research Methodologist and Chartered Health Psychologist interested in the development and application of N-of-1 trials and single-case designs in areas within the fields of medicine, psychology and digital health. Suzanne has applied these methods to study a range of health-related behaviours and chronic disease symptoms. With colleagues, Suzanne developed a novel statistical technique for analysing data from studies using single-case observational designs (SCODs). Suzanne is co-chair of the ICN.

James McGree 

Professor James McGree is the Discipline Leader for Statistics and Operations Research in the School of Mathematical Sciences at Queensland University of Technology. He has expertise in the field of Bayesian statistics with interests in computational algorithms, design of experiments/clinical trials and big data. Much of his research is focussed on methodological developments in statistics and relevant applied areas including medical research. He is currently the statistician for a number of on-going N-of-1 trials, and has published in this area, including chapters on using statistics for N-of-1 trials in the book The Essential Guide to N-of-1 trials in Health

Kerrie Evans

Dr Kerrie Evans is the Chief Education and Research Officer for Healthia Limited Australia and works both as an academic and as a clinical physiotherapist. She is a part-time Senior Research Fellow at The University of Sydney and, prior to commencing this role, was a Senior Lecturer at Griffith University for 15 years +. Kerrie completed her PhD in 2007 from The University of Sydney and her research continues to focus on ways to improve outcomes for people with neck and low back pain. Kerrie also practises clinically and was awarded the title of Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist by the Australian College of Physiotherapists in 2007. It was her interest in providing individualised care to people with musculoskeletal issues that first drew her to N-of-1 trials.

Dr Veronique Chachay is a Lecturer in Nutrition Science at The University of Queensland and first became interested in N-of-1 and Single-Case Experimental Designs after learning about the inadequacy of Randomised Controlled Trials and the discovery of individual responses due to genetic variants. Veronique is interested in using these methods to improve the rigour of investigations when targeting personalised response to care.

Sandra Grace

Professor Sandra Grace is a Professor of Osteopathy and Integrative Medicine at Southern Cross University. Her research interests include models of primary care, program evaluation and interprofessional education and practice. She is a member of the SA Health Practitioner Tribunal, Chiropractic Australia Research Foundation, Osteopathy Australia Research Committee, chairs the Australian Traditional Medicine Society Research Committee and founder of the Osteopathic Research Alliance. In 2017 she established the SCU N-of-1 Clinical Trials Group. She has conducted a number of N-of-1 trials with natural medicine practitioners, contributing to the evidence-base of their practices and building their research capacity.
